Among Bel Air Home’s age-specific programs is the young adult tract, designed for the unique transitions and mental stressors of young adulthood that often lead to anxiety, depression and thoughts of hopelessness. PTSD and OCD are common in this age group and often go untreated. Some have been suffering from delusions or hallucinations from an early age and their families are looking for proper diagnosis, treatment and a roadmap for independent living.
Many in this age group have been self-medicating with alcohol and drugs to alleviate their mental health disorders.
Our program painstakingly reviews prior treatments in conjunction with current symptoms to develop the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. We try to minimize medications in this age group due to the still-developing brain. We provide skill training for independent living such as budget management and cooking. Our team works to improve relationships with family and friends and to develop a long term support network. We help get lives on tract and provide tools to continue education or find productive work.
Our addiction medicine doctor is on hand to treat and secondary substance abuse disorders common in this age group that directly affect their mental health including marijuana, benzodiazepines, alcohol and opiates. Intensive customized therapy is provided every day and clients have a physician visit up to 4 times per week on average. Experiential outings to botanical gardens, sculpture gardens, and museums are provided multiple times per week. Acupuncture, yoga and art therapy is provided as part of our holistic approach.
We also provide a full medical workup with lab testing as needed.
Many of our clients come to us after attempting treatment at substance abuse treatment programs only to realize that what they had really needed was treatment of their underlying mental health disorders.
We strongly welcome family participation, and our medical director will provide regular updates to families (based on consent of the client) and work in tandem with any existing outpatient psychiatrist or doctor that the client might already have.

Ages 55 and Up

Bel Air Home residential program was uniquely created to provide integrative, holistic mental health treatment to senior adults in a home environment. We provide the highest quality assessment, diagnosis, stabilization and treatment for adults over the age of 55 with psychiatric issues.
Senior adults are particularly vulnerable to mental health conditions because they often live in isolation, away from friends and family members. Psychiatric issues in the elderly can be complex and can result from a mix of medical, neurological and even chronic pain. Therefore, our medical team includes a psychiatrist, neurologist, pain management doctor and internist who all work together.
We partner with a university to provide advanced cognitive testing, imaging scans and lab tests. We provide cutting edge treatments such as ketamine and TMS for difficult-to-treat depression.
Treatment is provided with kindness, empathy, dignity, and respect. Each treatment plan is designed by our interdisciplinary team and treatment plans evolve during the course of treatment.
